My name is Jasirah Sayed and I’ve been passionate about art since I can remember. It is with great enthusiasm that I am currently studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the Michaelis School of Fine Art.

I have been exposed to a number of different mediums such as; painting, lino, print-making, photography, sculpture, installation art and digital art. I have thoroughly enjoyed learning about Art History and Art Movements. I value learning and creativity above many things, and I believe this will serve as the right benchmark for future success in my chosen field.

I am willing to dedicate myself to my education, keep an open mind and expand my imagination The experience and expertise of the artists who currently work at the institution I am studying have been priceless, and their guidance has only helped me in a way forward. Being fortunate enough to study and be amongst such valuable artists and designers is perfect opportunity to network with already practicing artists, as well as other like-minded creatives in my field. I believe I have been blessed with a creative mind, and I would like to perfect and further my creative skills. Holding a Fine Arts degree will serve as a vital first step into the conceptual and commercial art world. This is important as it serves as a contextual basis from which to continue my studies further.

In the future, I see myself pursuing a career in line with my expertise and experience. I see myself exploring and experimenting with new ideas by crossing disciplines such as new media and digital art as I understand, the definition of art is continuously expanding, and the of technology in art-making and exhibitions is becoming more relevant. I think a fresh perspective, (my own) will potentially serve as an inspiration to other artists in the contemporary world.

I am constantly inspired to create thanks to the people around me and my love for nature and the ocean. I value my physical health too and consider myself a well-rounded individual with big dreams. I believe in my abilities and those I love do too, which can only benefit me moving forward. I love inspiring others too, and I think that my experience will eventually inspire younger generations from various backgrounds, to pursue a career in the art world.

I have started my own art business based online, which has been going strong for a year so far.  I produce custom portrait illustration/graphic painting and drawings as my business. I am excited to further these creations and art ideas into something else! I have an interest in film photography, and have shot with a few companies and events for model agencies as well as local clothing companies! This has enabled me incredible experiences as well as what it is like to be a creative hard at work.
